It’s Lucas, in case you didn’t read the author line of the post, or if you have selective dyslexia, in which case you’ll be calling me Sacul for a while before I stop laughing to correct you.  Hi.   I contribute (if you could call it that) to this site/artistic collective by sharing/whoring my writing/music.  I go by MartyrFlares and you’ll see a lot of my mixtapes on our Mixed-Records page, which is currently in the works.  I rap, I play bass, but above all else, I create.

I’ll start putting some of my older verses and short prose up here, but only as it is deemed worthwhile.  Lord knows a flood of content is no good; so just stay tuned and I’ll do my best to not deafen or blind you.   With awesome.

In closing, for the record:  I am alive.  I just work at restaurants six nights a week.  A Mixtape, by myself and C-Melt, another Mixed-Records collaborator; will be dropped on your head in the coming weeks.  It will have fifty songs on it, along with five videos for singles, all available for free download on the Mixed-Records page.

Things have been quiet for a few reasons.  Keenan and I both relocated to our hometown of Charlottesville, Virginia without looking back on Richmond.  For many reasons; some personal, others hilarious, we felt as though it was time for a change.  After moving back in with our respective sets of parents, we found ourselves in an unprecedented creative vice-grip as our focus was forced upon the daily grind:  work, collect money for rent, scrimp and save, etc., and thus our blogs suffered and lay stagnant.  But that is not to say that Mixed-Studios was dormant, as our site was.
In reading this, you are viewing the Mixed-Studios site, Version Six.  More so than ever before, this patch update represents a true renaissance in the growth of our company.

This was originally a t-shirt for the band Big Chills, unfortunately they disbanded before anything could be done with it.  I liked it so much I couldn’t not use it for something. Eventually it made it to the banner of the new site.  Thought it would be cool to upload the full drawing.
